There are a few places around the city, and more online, where you can search for authentic town house parts and other architectural salvage items. One place called Build It Green is actually a non profit seeking to reduce waste by offering to help with demo and disposal of items that can be reused and resold. They have locations in Queens and Brooklyn. Below are a couple of snaps taken from inside their cavernous Brooklyn location in Gowanus. There is another store next door that sells vintage furniture called Find, and across the street an open air market where a guy sells more architectural salvage, iron work, and the like.
