Doing some reading on refinancing and liked this article from Mint.com called “The Problem with Refinancing”.

Basically the author talks about trying to refinance as any homeowner would, in this case with confidence as she had good finances and had refinanced before. Then the bank started hemming and hawing and backtracking on some of their promises. Instead of blindly trusting the process she went to the bank’s PR department and they basically fixed things for her. Shows how uneven the origination process can still be, and how knowing or working with the right people can make all the difference.
